Hols @hills

Last sunday on chinese new year, we went for a short holiday at Fraser Hill. It was an unplanned holiday for me but I was quite excited about it as this would be my 2nd visit to Fraser Hill.

We arrived at the Gap approximately at 12pm via Rawang-Serendah-Kuala Kubu Bharu and more than 10 cars already queued up there.  While waiting for the gate to be opened at 1pm some people took this opportunity to buy food at the stalls or take pictures and some people went to the public toilets. To those who haven't been to Fraser Hill, there is a gate system to control traffic up and down. Odd numbered hours are reserved for uphill traffic while even hours for down-hill traffic. Between 8pm to 7am, the road is open to 2 way traffic.

At 1pm, the gate is opened and we proceed to our journey. It took 15-20 mins for 8 km one way road. Once we got there, we went to the food stalls nearby for lunch. Then we headed to Fraser's Hill Federal Rest House at Jalan Girdle for check-in. The room there was quite big for both of us, with a king size bed and a single bed, cost RM50 per night. Golek-golek pun tarak jatuh huhuhuhu.

After solat, we went for achery and horse riding at the Paddock (tetiba rasa cam Marian, dalam citer robin hood plak) and also to Allan's Water but i didnt go for boating. Suprisingly, there is a waterfall, named Air Terjun Jeriau. Seeeejjjuuuukkk giler airnye... tapi terpaksa menapak berjalan dan turun tangga dalam 8-10 min barulah jumpa air terjun. The worst part was masa nak balik kena panjat anak tangga sampai lenguh-lenguh dan semput.

Before we went back to our rest house, we took pictures @bandar Fraser Hill and had our dinner @ Puncak Inn. I ordered a mee mamak and hot milo for myself.. sedap giler dining in open air sambil menghirup udara yang sungguh nyaman. Before we left, we were told that no more strawberry farm at Fraser Hill. The next morning, i could hear the birds singing the sweet melodies and could feel the wind of the cool mountain breeze. At around 9am we checked-out and had our breakfast at Puncak Inn again. Unfortunately, the buffet there was not so nice that morning.

On the way back home, we dropped by to Berjaya Hills, formerly known as Bukit Tinggi. We had to pay RM10 per pax for an entrance fee! Imagine how much you have to pay if you bring along the whole family there. Mengarut! Macam masuk muzium pulak. Once paid, you are allowed to visit the Colmar Tropicale and Japanese Village. From my experience it is advisable to take a shuttle to go to Japanese Village from Colmare Tropicale. The car park at the Japanese Village is limited and you have to walk up to reach the village for about 5mins. Macam bukit tonggek. Kalau bertuah, bolehlah tumpang shuttle yang nak naik ke atas dari car pack, itu pun kalau shuttle tak penuh. Or else, lu pikir la sendiri.

It's hot up there during afternoon especially at the Colmar Tropicale. As for me, Berjaya Hills is not more than a place to take pictures of buildings and flowers. Fraser Hill is even much more better. Fraser Hill is truly heaven and i'll be back. But i am looking forward to going to Cameron Highland for my next holiday.
